2 Million Flushmate Toilet Systems Recalled Because of Explosions

The Consumer Product Safety Commission is recalling more than 2 million Flushmate systems that are meant to make flushing easier, but can burst and send the toilet lid — and everything else in your toilet — flying.

The Flushmate III Pressure-Assist Flushing System, installed inside the toilet tank, can burst at or near the vessel weld seam, releasing stored pressure that can shatter the tank and lacerate consumers. So far, Flushmate has received 304 reports of explosions causing property damage and 14 reports of impact or laceration injuries.

If you own a Flushmate, immediately turn off the water supply to the unit and stop using the system.

"...shatter the tank and lacerate consumers"?  More like eviscerate consumers. Masculinity gone.

Bicyclist arrested after chase through apartment complex

A 19-year-old bicyclist was arrested for obstructing police after leading an officer on a cat-and-mouse chase through The Club apartment complex.

The incident began about 2:40 a.m. June 15, when the officer saw the man riding his bike on Hunsaker Street without lights, police reports said.

The suspect cut through the basketball and volleyball courts and between buildings as the officer tried to stop him with his overhead lights and siren, the reports said.

The teenager eventually jumped off the bike and ran into a building before the officer caught up with him in a third-floor hallway.

He was taken to the Clinton County Jail on suspicion of resisting and obstructing an officer and being a minor in possession of alcohol.

‘… riding his bike on Hunsaker Street without lights’? In Bath Township? Does anyone know where Hunsaker Street is, or even Bath Township? It’s a long way from being a metropolitan area. Kind of like a side street on the outskirts of Mayberry. And running his overhead lights and siren in an apartment complex at 2:40 a.m. chasing a teenager on a bicycle? Good job Deputy Barney Fife, we’ll have no more of these bikes running around at 2:40 a.m. without lights threatening the good people of Mayberry, I mean Bath Township.
