LOWELL, Mass. — A Massachusetts woman has filed a lawsuit against five people she alleges illegally distributed a video of her having a sexual encounter with a Buddhist monk.

Maya Men said in her lawsuit filed in Middlesex Superior Court last week that the defendants — at least one of whom is a monk — violated her right to privacy and her constitutional rights. She also says their actions intentionally inflicted emotional distress.

Men is seeking damages and money for an investigation to locate and confiscate all of copies of the video. She also is seeking a temporary restraining order against the defendants and a preliminary injunction barring further distribution or display of the recording.

Men was helping to lead an effort to raise $10 million for a new temple in Lowell. The sexual encounter took place at a temple in Chelmsford.

One of the men named in the suit calls it part of a “smear campaign” and an effort to deflect attention from the Community of Khmer Buddhist Monks fundraising efforts.

Ex-NFL player Kwame Harris accused of beating ex-boyfriend

An ex-NFL player is facing felony domestic violence charges for allegedly beating an ex-boyfriend in the parking lot of a restaurant after an argument about soy sauce.

Former San Francisco 49ers and Oakland Raiders offensive lineman Kwame Harris was charged with felony domestic violence and assault causing great bodily injury and faces nine years in prison. Harris, 30, pleaded not guilty and is out of jail after posting a $75,000 bail. Harris’ attorney says it is a case of self-defense.

The trouble started August 21 when Harris and ex-boyfriend Dimitri Geier were sharing dinner at Su Hong restaurant in Menlo Park. Harris was to drive Geier to San Francisco International Airport for a flight following the meal. But the men began to argue after Geier poured soy sauce on some rice, which upset Harris, according to a civil lawsuit Geier filed in San Mateo County.

The arguing continued and escalated, until finally Harris revoked his offer to drop Geier off at the airport. Geier agreed to take a cab instead, but as they went to retrieve has bags from Harris’ car the dispute turned violent. Harris allegedly tried to pull down Geier’s pants and accused the ex of stealing his underwear, according to the suit.

The punches from Harris broke bones around Geier's eye socket and led to a metal plate being installed in his face and other surgeries, said his attorney Craig Charles. He added Geier, who had been in a four-year, on-and-off relationship with Harris, may require more surgery because the metal plate has shifted.

Geier poured soy sauce on some rice, which upset Harris? Harris tried to pull down Geier’s pants in the parking lot? Accused him of stealing his underwear? For this Geier required several surgeries and a metal plate in his face.

A reminder to all NFL boyfriends: be discreet with the soy sauce and don’t steal your boyfriend’s underwear.

Probation for priest found nude, driving drunk in Dearborn
By Associated Press/The Detroit News January 2, 2013 Dearborn

A priest accused of driving naked and drunk has been placed on probation after pleading no contest to impaired driving.

Attorneys say the Rev. Peter Petroske also pleaded no contest to a charge of disorderly conduct, related to his lack of clothes. Both are misdemeanors.

Petroske appeared in court in Dearborn on Dec. 27, about five months after police stopped his car near Sacred Heart Church in Dearborn, where he was the pastor. His attorney, Ed Zelenek, said Wednesday that the priest is being treated in Pennsylvania for an alcohol problem.

Reader Comment:
Fortunately, there are no reports of any underage boys being in the car with him. I guess, for the Catholic Church, that's progress.

A Catholic church in Dearborn? Aren’t they all Muslims? Actually there are 5 mosques in Dearborn, and 10 Catholic churches included in a total of 54 Christian churches.
